Memberships
Westington Works was built for its members — the dreamers, doers, and makers who bring creativity to life. From the very start, we set out to create a space where every idea is encouraged, every craft is celebrated, and every person feels right at home.
Here, community comes first. You’ll find friendly faces, shared laughter, and the kind of inspiration that only happens when passionate people come together. Whether you’re sculpting, sewing, painting, or plotting your next big project, Westington Works is your space to explore, connect, and grow.
We can’t wait to welcome you.

Joining the Community
Because we care about safety and proper training around equipment, every new member completes a short induction. To make sure this is done properly (and not rushed), we limit how many people join at any one time.
There are two ways to get started:
1. Monthly Open Evenings
Once a month we open the doors to a limited number of new members.
Free tickets are released via our website — they go quickly, so keep an eye out.
2. Through a Club
If you’re interested in a specific craft, you can request to attend a Club as a guest.
Club Leaders can invite committed participants to become full members.
The Community Fund
Creativity should never be out of reach.
If the fee feels like a barrier, our Community Fund exists to help. We want Westington Works to be accessible to anyone with the desire to create and connect.
If you’d like to know more, just get in touch — everything is handled with care and discretion.

Help staff our Showroom — Volunteers Wanted
Love meeting people and sharing your craft? We need friendly faces to help staff our Showroom Monday–Friday, 11:00–14:00.
You don’t need to cover every shift — we’ll take as many volunteers as it takes and split the rota. In return, volunteers get free use of the facilities for the time they’re committed, plus the chance to meet customers, sell your work, and be part of our welcoming community.
If you’d like to help, please fill in the form below and we’ll be in touch.

Meet Some Members
Meet Ian – The Man with the Plan (and the Paint Sprayer He Should Never Touch)
Ian's the brains, brawn, and occasional paint-splattered legend behind Westington Works. When he’s not running his other business (the slightly less glamorous world of document storage), he’s here — dreaming up new ideas, fixing things that probably didn’t need fixing, and somehow finding time to keep the place running.
He’s the driving force that keeps everything moving forward, full of vision and unstoppable energy. Just don’t let him near a paintbrush… we learned that one the hard way.
Meet Jan – The Heart with the Yarn
Jan’s the kind of person who can turn a ball of wool into magic — and make you laugh while she’s at it. A master of card-making, knitting, and crochet, she’s as creative as she is down-to-earth. Always ready with a smile, a story, and the honest truth (whether you asked for it or not), Jan brings warmth and wit to every corner of Westington Works.
She’s proof that creativity and good humour go hand-in-hand — and usually come wrapped in yarn.
Meet Dave – The Man Who Can (and Usually Does)
Dave’s a wizard with wood — crafting beautiful pieces that make everyone else say, “How did he do that?” When he’s not busy in the workshop, he’s turning his talents to the building itself: plumbing in toilets, insulating walls, and generally making Westington Works even more wonderful.
He’s practical, creative, and never afraid to roll up his sleeves — the kind of guy every creative hub needs (and every plumber wishes they had on speed dial).
Meet Steve – The Workshop Wizard
For Steve, Westington Works isn’t just a place to tinker — it’s his happy place (and honestly, he prefers it to the real world). A woodworker with serious skills, Steve’s the master of all the fancy tools and has a special fondness for the laser engraver — if it can be etched, he’s your man.
He’s also one of the renovation legends, always ready to lend a hand, fix a thing, or build something brilliant out of nothing. Basically, if it’s made of wood (or vaguely wood-shaped), Steve’s already made it better.
Meet Gray – The Visual Storyteller (and Obie’s Human)
After escaping the clutches of the corporate world, Gray’s finally doing what he truly loves — capturing the beauty of life through a lens. A passionate photographer with a knack for all things visual (and, apparently, websites too), he’s turned Westington Works into his creative playground.
Whether he’s chasing perfect light, editing late into the night, or plotting how to sneak his dog Obie onto the website, Gray’s got an eye for detail and a heart for art. His mission? To make the world look as good as it feels when you’re part of Westington Works.
